Okay. Deep inhale. Deep exhale. Pretty sure we’ve all been waiting for this one. Since Jamie Foxx (aka Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2) leaked a photo of three Spidermen with his character at the top on Instagram earlier this month, it was quickly deleted leaving fans speculating whether or not we were getting a spiderverse-like movie. As it turns out, we were right.
According to FandomWire.com, both Garfield and Maguire were rumored to be in talks to appear in the third Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland. It was recently confirmed by a source from Sony that those rumors were true and they will be reprising their roles as Peter Parker alongside Holland’s portal of the same character.
Along with Jamie Foxx’s Electro, it’s also been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch’s character Doctor Strange will also be making an appearance in the film, supposedly bringing all three renditions of Spider-Man together in the same universe. Basically in a nutshell, this film will be very much like a live action Spiderverse (still unsure if Miles Morales will be appearing in the movie as well). Villain-wise, there will be several foes that all three Peters will have to face so this will likely be the plot and as to why Doctor Strange brings them together.
