It’s a huge feat for any gaming company to complete a game. It’s an even bigger feat when it’s released for the world to play and enjoy. But releasing two games over the course of one year? That’s the case for Game Freak, the company that develops Pokémon games.
Expectations were kept pretty low for Pokémon Day, which announced new content during its Pokémon Presents for many of its games such as Pokémon Go and Pokémon Unite. It even included an update for its most recent game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch. What fans didn’t expect, however, was the big surprise near the end of the stream in which generation nine was announced. With a whole new region to explore and new Pokémon to catch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet showcases beautiful scenery and an open world concept very similar to Legends: Arceus. Fans were left excited and hopeful for the next gen game, coming in late 2022. Not much is known about the game as of right now but that’s not stopping fans to ponder which starter Pokémon they want for the next nine months.
